Derby Entry

Adults (16+) – $60

  • Included 3-day admission to the Steelhead Expo.
  • 16 and older. All youth participants must be accompanied by a paid derby adult participant (18+).
  • Must have Idaho Fishing License and Steelhead Permit.

Youth (15 & under) – FREE

  • Children 15 & under are admitted free with paid adults.
  • To register youth, add a ticket to your cart and apply your discount at checkout.

Details

Derby Details

  • The final Day of Derby Entry online is 1/8/2024
  • People can enter the day at the event at Derby Headquarters at Hells Canyon Grand Hotel
  • The final daily check-in is 3pm, Friday – Sunday

Tournament

  • Eligible Fish: Must be caught on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday

Weigh-In Requirements

  • Fish must be weighed in by the person who caught it
  • Steelhead tag must be presented
  • Must be weighed in at the official derby weigh-in station

Winner Determination

  • Winners are decided by the weight of fish
  • In case of a tie:
    • The length of fish will be used to determine the winner.
    • If both weight and length are the same, prize money will be split

Fishing Rules

  • All fishing rules listed in our 2025-2027 fishing rules booklet are in effect unless modified by this permit. For your review, a copy of season rules and limits can be found at: https://idfg.idaho.gov/rules/fish

Participation

  • All participants 15 and over must have a valid fishing license.

Boat Ramps

  • When tournament anglers are using boat ramps with two or more lanes, at least one lane is required to be open for public use.

The following fish cannot be harvested during any tournament: wild trout (in any stream), Cutthroat Trout, White Sturgeon, Bull Trout, and Arctic Grayling.
 
Idaho law requires all boats, including those from out of state, must display a valid Idaho Invasive Species Sticker. All anglers recently fishing out of state must have their boats inspected at a Watercraft Inspection Station before launching in Idaho. All boaters please minimize risk of moving aquatic invasive species (AIS) by cleaning, draining, & drying all watercraft, including kayaks. New law in 2024; All water inside a vessel must be drained prior to transport including live wells. (Title 22 Chapter 1905A). Inspection stations are located on major highways near state lines.
